Universo Daverio will open exclusively and for the first time ever in collaboration with Leonardo's Vineyard. This place has a unique bond both with Philippe Daverio and the city of Milan. It is thanks to Philippe Daverio that the refectory of the Dominican monastery of St. Agostino has been open to the public again. It was incorporated within what is now the Palazzo Ravizza in Milan at the end of the 1700 under the order of the queen Maria Theresa of Austria. Nowdays the refectory is an intimate library which hosts the entire Daverio collection. He was an art expert, an historian and an academic.
The visit lasts 45 minutes. The guide follows groups of more 10 people and tells the story of Philippe Daverio collection. Inside you can find paintings, books, scultures, pictures, portraits and journal articles. Everything is an expression of his taste. Taste that was wandering, curious and ironic. Taste with multiple expressions just like his ingenuity.
